In the literary field, my current focus is on colonial and postcolonial literatures, with particular reference to the poetry of Derek Walcott. However, I am also broadly interested in a wide range of issues related to both British and Japanese cultural studies.

a) English is like money: at its best when being used.
b) Never be embarrassed to ask a question. Admitting you don't know is the first step towards finding the answer.
